Growing up in Mississippi, typical meals consisted of sugary cereal for breakfast, sandwiches and chips for lunch, and Hamburger Helper with canned vegetables for dinner. Meat was a rarity, a true luxury in our household. And yet, I don’t resent those times; in fact, I believe they shaped my resilience.
Today, as an online Wellness Coach, I’ve learned the profound impact of food on physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It’s not about following a fad diet or extreme deprivation, but about rewiring your habits, a process that takes time and patience. I’ve made a conscious effort every day to incorporate medicinal foods into my meals. By being aware of what I was eating and when I was eating it, my body has transformed, my cystic acne has disappeared, and my energy levels have soared. I understand that food isn’t merely sustenance; it’s intertwined with our emotions and habits. Changing those habits and rewiring those connections is a challenge, but it’s absolutely worth it.
